Turner Talks Mobile Content and More

The world’s preeminent leaders and thinkers in media, technology and advertising converge every year at Mobile World Congress, which took place last week in Barcelona.
This year, Turner partnered with Beet.tv to develop a video series featuring some of those leaders discussing the biggest topics affecting our industry today—everything from how companies should be approaching the shift to mobile (it’s not mobile first, it’s mobile throughout, says Starcom’s Lisa Donohue) to how best to engage with consumers today (it’s all about creating fans, says Turner’s John Martin). The series also includes prescient thought starters from CNN’s Alex Wellen, Turner Ad Sales', Donna Speciale, Cartoon Network's Christina Miller, WPP’s Sir Martin Sorrell, Havas Media’s Dominique Delport and others.
“Content is no longer king, experience is.” That was the central theme emerging from a conversation between Turner Chairman and CEO John Martin and Bloomberg’s Caroline Hyde during a keynote on “The Content Goldrush.” Martin talked content strategies and the role mobile plays as the primary delivery, consumption, production and engagement channel for consumers. A new component of the MWC this year was Women4Tech, a forum sponsored by Turner and other industry leaders to address the gender gap in the mobile industry. The Women4Tech Summit was an opportunity for attendees to get real-world advice from top corporate influencers on the best practices for female leadership in the digital age. Among those authorities were Lauren Hurvitz, Turner’s executive vice president and global chief communications and corporate marketing officer, and Christina Miller. Learn more about Women4Tech here.
