Alex Gonzalez is Senior Vice President of Corporate Development & New Media of TBS Latin America. He is responsible for the company’s business development, strategic planning and M&As, in line with new regional growth initiatives. Additionally, Alex and his team are responsible for digital distribution efforts on the Internet, mobile devices and non-linear television platforms for all sixteen brands of Turner in Latin America.
Ever since he joined Turner, Alex has played a crucial role in the origination, performance and operational integration of the Company’s most significant transactions in the region, such as the acquisition of the networks of Claxson and Chilevision and investments in joint ventures such as CNN Chile and CNNMexico.com, where he currently serves as advisor to their respective executive committees. He was also in charge of structuring and business planning efforts in Turner’s strategic partnership with Warner Network Latin America.
He has over 15 years’ experience in strategic planning, corporate finance, and structuring of complex business deals, and is mainly focused on emerging Internet and new technology-enabled businesses. His career includes senior positions in Ariba, a Silicon Valley-based software company, as well as Walt Disney Internet Group, Chase Manhattan Bank, and A.T. Kearney. Alex has a graduate degree from Duke University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He reports to Juan Carlos Urdaneta, President of Turner Broadcasting System Latin America, Inc.
