President of Turner Broadcasting System Latin America, Inc.

Juan Carlos Urdaneta is the President of Turner Broadcasting System Latin America, Inc., responsible for advertising sales, distribution and marketing for news networks and for development, programming and marketing & promotion for the entertainment networks in Latin America and the Caribbean. Juan Carlos oversees the portfolio of entertainment networks of Turner and their related websites. Additionally, he is in charge of distribution and marketing for CNN en Español, CNN International and CNNHeadlineNews. He manages personnel in Atlanta and in regional offices located in Buenos Aires, Chile, Colombia, Miami, Mexico, D.F. and Sao Paulo.

He is based in Atlanta and reports to Louise Sams, President of TBSInternational, Inc. 

With over 13 years in Turner, Juan Carlos served as Senior Vice President of TBS Latin America, Inc., where he was responsible for sales, distribution and marketing for Turner’s networks throughout the region. He first joined TBS in 1994 as regional comptroller for Latin America. In 1996 he was promoted to Regional Vice President for Northern Latin America sales, and subsequently served as Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing. 

Before he joined the Company, Juan Carlos was head of financial operations at Johnson & Johnson Venezuela and TelCel, a cell-phone strategic alliance between Cisneros and Bell South, also in Venezuela; and he managed the financial aspects of PepsiCo’s non-alcoholic beverages division in the Andean region. 

Born in Venezuela, Juan Carlos holds an MBA from the University of Kansas.
