CNN’s SUMNIMA UDAS IS ‘JOURNALIST OF THE YEAR’ AT WOMEN’S EMPOWERMENT JOURNALISM AWARDS
CNN International’s Delhi-based correspondent Sumnima Udas has been awarded ‘Journalist of the Year’ at the inaugural Women’s Empowerment (WE) Journalism Awards for her sensitive and incisive reporting on gender issues including the December 2012 New Delhi gang-rape, the plight of acid attack victims in India and the courageous stance taken by young Indian women, fighting back to ensure the safety of women in their neighbourhoods. The Awards held in Singapore, honour outstanding achievements in reporting on women’s issues. Udas' work was recognised amongst entries by distinguished journalists across Asia Pacific including Australia, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
CBS OUTDOOR LAUNCHES FIRST OUT-OF-HOME DIGITAL UNDERGROUND NETWORK IN NEW YORK WITH LAUNCH PARTNER TURNER BROADCASTING
New York, March 10, 2014 -- CBS Outdoor announced today the launch of a digital out-of-home network in New York subway stations with launch partner Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. (TBS, Inc.). The platform launch is just in time to promote this year’s NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship, and will feature content from TNT, TBS, CNN, Adult Swim and other Turner brands. To bring this content to life, CBS Outdoor, under its recently launched Ignite: Innovations Lab platform, has installed 10 large-format digital dioramas, measuring 66 inches high and 38.5 inches wide, in strategic locations throughout the subway system.
Cartoon Network Evolves with Kids: “Always On”
Resuming its successful strategy launched last year of taking its road-show presentation directly to clients and promotional partners, Cartoon Network enters the Upfront Season by introducing its newest evolution in reaching kids whenever they want and wherever they are with an expanded portfolio of exclusive content designed for specific platforms that kids access today. Whether via television, smartphones, computers, tablets or other gaming devices, Cartoon Network will be “Always On” with customized new original and/or acquired programming and digital offerings designed to meet viewer demand any time of the day. To Cartoon Network, “Network” means a portfolio of different experiences across a network of devices for a network of fans. In February, Turner Broadcasting announced that Cartoon Network’s on-air hours will change to 6 a.m. – 8 p.m. starting March 31.

As Cartoon Network strides into its 20th year on-air in Asia Pacific, the channel continues its reign as the region’s number one international kids’ channel. According to 2013 full-year figures, Cartoon Network reaches more kids across the Asia Pacific region than any other international channel, and is the highest rating international kids’ channel in seven markets: India, Korea, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand.
