When Ted Turner conceived of Captain, he envisioned the series as way of bridging educational and entertainment programming. The series producers were given a mandate -- create a show that is fun, action-packed, and at the same time non-violent and educational. A new concept in kids programming perhaps...
Over the six years that we have been producing the Captain Planet series, we think we've hit on something. Based on the incredible response from kids, teachers and parents, it has become clear to us, and to many others in the children's TV field, that education and entertainment DO MIX!
