The Power is Yours!
When Ted Turner conceived of Captain Planet, he envisioned the series as way of bridging the gap between educational and entertainment programming. The series producers were challenged to create a show that was fun and action-packed as well as non-violent and educational.
Over the six years that we produced new episodes for Captain Planet, we knew we'd hit on a new concept in programming for kids. Based on the incredible response from kids, parents, and teachers up until today, we know that education and entertainment DO MIX! If you're interested in learning more about the thought process that went into creating Captain Planet, see the "Mission to Save Earth."
