The New Adventures of Captain Planet

Season 5

TWILIGHT OZONE

While studying the effects of ozone depletion, the Planeteers encounter scientists in the Australian Outback who are experimenting on new life forms that thrive on deadly levels of UV radiation. And when their prize specimen, Duke Nukem, goes on a radioactive rampage, the Planeteers are forced to give him the slip, slap, slop!

HOLLYWASTE

The Planeteers go to Hollywood to appear in a environmental thriller, and find out that big-budgets can lead to big waste. With the Planeteers trying to clean up Hollywood's act, a series of strange accidents occur... and the #1 suspect is none other than movie star Bambi Blight, Dr. Blight's younger sister!

DISORIENTED EXPRESS

Dr. Blight kidnaps the wealthy benefactor of a new smog-reducing railway system and threatens to sabotage the entire project. Can Captain Planet and the Planeteers find Blight's hideout and save the project's leader in time to stop the train system from being derailed?

GHOST OF PORKALOIN PAST

When Hoggish Greedly inherits his grandpappy Don Porkaloin's estate, he builds a water wasting golf resort in the desert. The Planeteers join forces with Porkaloin's faithful old groundskeeper to try and pull the plug on the big pig but soon find themselves in over their heads.

NO PLACE LIKE HOME

Dr. Blight uses some weird science to turn Gaia into a homeless person, and render Captain Planet powerless. While Gaia gets a crash course in life on the streets, the Planeteers and the plainclothes Planet race against time to find her. If she's not back to Hope Island by sunrise, the Earth will lose its Spirit!

HORNS A' PLENTY

The Planeteers set out to stop Rhino poachers who are killing the animals for their high-priced horns. And when eco-baddies Looten Plunder and Mame Slaughter join forces, our heroes find themselves caught between a horn and a hard place -- the Rhinos are on the verge of extinction, and the Planeteers find themselves an endangered species as well.

LITTLE CROP OF HORRORS

Dr. Blight steals a plant growth enhancing ray and uses it on a non-native species of vine intended to control erosion. But transplanted into a new ecosystem, Blight's little crop of horrors turns into a killer Kudzu and threatens to swallow an entire village, people and all!

A RIVER RAN THROUGH IT

A letter from a despondent young fan draws the Planeteers into a struggle between loggers and salmon fishermen. And it looks like the deck is Riggered against them when Hoggish Greedly and his scrawny sidekick use some strategic sabotage to turn the two sides disagreement into a recipe for disaster!

IN ZARM'S WAY

With two young children's lives on the line, the nefarious Zarm offers Gi a chance to save them, if she can show that human beings are, by nature, good. With Zarm playing by his own rules, the Planeteers find themselves in a bizarre experiment where Zarm uses the anger and prejudice of the children's parents to turn the kids into hateful "monsters."

NOTHING'S SACRED

When Verminous Skumm steals a sacred Indian relic, Ma-ti is driven by his Native American heritage to help return it to its rightful place. Separated from the other Planeteers, without his ring, and with Skumm hot on his heels... it may take the aid of sacred spirits for Ma-ti to complete his mission!

WHO'S RUNNING THE SHOW

When environmental programming at Learner TV is suddenly pre-empted by an anti-environmental, violence driven lineup, the Planeteers head to the television station to find out why. It seems Dr. Blight, Verminous Skumm et al feel greed and waste are getting a bad rap. With the station's executives "all tied up," the Eco-rats are running the show.

NO SMALL PROBLEM

With landfills overflowing, Sly Sludge is ready to cash in on his new garbage reducing ray. But when the Planeteers threaten to expose his operation, Sludge shrinks them down and buries them in a sea of refuse. In jeopardy from toxic trash, and seagulls the size of jumbo jets, our heroes have to do some serious recycling in an effort to engineer their way out of their new "world of waste!"

NUMBERS GAME

Wedding bells ring when Wheeler and Linka... are married? But soon Wheeler feels like the old woman in the shoe, with a dozen hungry children, and another one in the oven. Seems Hope Island has been clear-cut and they've put in a mega-mall. What is Wheeler's world coming to? Is this where a single birthday kiss has led him?
