CARTOON NETWORK APPOINTS PACIFIC LICENSING STUDIO IN SOUTHEAST ASIA & TAIWAN

HONG KONG (JANUARY 26, 2016) – Cartoon Network today announced Pacific Licensing Studio will represent its consumer products division in Southeast Asia. The partnership is effective immediately and will include driving the licensing business regionally for global franchises such as The Powerpuff Girls, Ben 10, We Bare Bears and Adventure Time.

The announcement comes just as Cartoon Network is gearing up for the reimagined returns of two major properties in 2016 – Ben 10 and The Powerpuff Girls – both equipped with an all-new consumer products program.

“Pacific Licensing already represents our sister company, Warner Bros. Consumer Products, so we know they have a track record of delivering results for strong brands in the region,” said Melissa Tinker, Vice President of Cartoon Network Enterprises, Asia Pacific. “In particular, we know that Pacific Licensing will ignite genuine passion with our retailers and consumers alike, and propel our business forward in this landmark year for Cartoon Network.”

The deal stretches across Southeast Asia including major markets such as Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines.

Neal Rudge, Partner from Pacific Licensing, added: “The partners and the entire crew at Pacific Licensing couldn’t be more thrilled to be working with Cartoon Network Enterprises in Southeast Asia and Taiwan. With new animation coming out for exceptionally strong franchises such as Ben 10 and the re-launch of The Powerpuff Girls, as well as delightful new properties such as We Bare Bears, Cartoon Network continues to define itself as one of the most vibrant content houses in Asia, and it will be our great privilege to help bring their licensing business to the next level in the region.”

The Powerpuff Girls licensing program is one of Cartoon Network’s top-grossing franchises ever, with more than US$2.5 billion in retail sales generated since its debut, and it continues to inspire as a global fashion brand with numerous apparel partners and fashion collections around the world. Consistently a top rated series among boys, Ben 10 is a powerful global franchise for Cartoon Network with proven sales success led by top-selling toy, interactive and home entertainment franchises generating more than US$4.5 billion in global retail sales to date.
