CNN OPEN COURT: AUSTRALIAN OPEN 2015

This month CNN’s ‘Open Court’ is in Melbourne for the Australian Open, as the world’s best tennis players compete in the first grand slam of 2015.

Host Pat Cash interviews past Australian Open winners, including last year’s champion, China’s Li Na. She first made headlines when she became the first Asian to win a grand slam singles title, before creating more headlines just a few months later when she retired. Announcing her pregnancy yesterday, Cash finds out what the future holds for the mother-to-be.

Cash also meets 2014’s men’s champion Stan Wawrinka who will be defending his title. Wawrinka tells ‘Open Court’ he sees Serbian Novak Djokovic as favorite to win in 2015.

Cash also speaks to Australia’s current number one player, 19-year-old Nick Kyrgios. He broke onto the tennis scene last year when he knocked out world number one Rafa Nadal at Wimbledon but can he now live up to the hype surrounding him?

Finally, ‘Open Court’ meets retired seven-time grand slam winner including four Australian Opens, Evonne Goolagong Cawley. She talks about her childhood, her career, and finding success on the court.
