New kids & family content included for all HBO Nordic subscribers launching on October 3rd
HBO Nordic, the premium streaming service in the Nordic market and the home of many internationally acclaimed series such as Game of Thrones, Westworld and Big Little Lies, is today launching kids’ and family service Toonix. HBO Nordic’s new addition will be available for consumers on www.hbonordic.com, and through selected distribution partners in the Nordic region.
Toonix is an all new kids’ brand created by Turner EMEA and targeted at 3-12 year olds and their families. The service will offer a mix of high quality kids’ series and movies including popular content from Turner’s Cartoon Network Studios, Warner Bros. Animation and many more. HBO Nordic is proud to be the first partner in launching the brand.
At launch, Toonix contains more than 2000 episodes of the most acclaimed shows and movies and comes with no additional fees for HBO Nordic subscribers. All shows are fully localised, with offerings in Swedish, Danish, Norwegian and Finnish, and are 100% ad free.
With brand new content set to be added each week, key shows include all-time favourites, The Amazing World of Gumball, Lego Ninjago, Looney Tunes, The Powerpuff Girls, Adventure Time, Ben 10, Teen Titans Go!, Scooby-Doo and Tom and Jerry. These sit alongside pre-school classics, Shaun the Sheep, Alfie Atkins, and My Little Pony and local favourites like Pippi Longstocking, Bamse, Rasmus Klump and The Moomins.
A selection of live-action series such as Dance Academy will entertain “tweens” and there is a curated movie section for the whole family, including titles such as Arthur and the Minimoys and Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium.
“Thanks to our cooperation with Turner, we are very pleased to be able to provide our Nordic subscribers with a complete offer of the best premium content. Now our adult TV-series fans as well as families with kids can enjoy all their favourite shows on HBO Nordic,” says Hervé Payan, CEO, HBO Europe.
“At Turner we are constantly seeking new ways to engage with our fans, building on our leadership in premium content creation across kids, news, movies, general entertainment and sports, and expanding our options to curate and distribute our branded content,” says Giorgio Stock, President Turner EMEA. “We’re delighted to be partnering with HBO Nordic to start this flagship kids and family focused OTT venture, which represents a significant and exciting new milestone in our ability to provide our fans with a trusted, bespoke, rich and immersive user offering.”
