HONG KONG (May 24, 2016) – The new professional eSports league, organized by Turner and WME | IMG, will air in Asia on truTV and Warner TV. Entitled ELEAGUE, the inaugural first season pitting 24 international teams against each other, launches today (May 24), with live event coverage on digital platform Twitch throughout the week, and round-robin finals airing on truTV every weekend.

The Counter-Strike: Global Offensive teams compete over a 10-week period from a state-of-the-art arena at Turner Studios in Atlanta in the US. The global championship will then be held on Saturday, July 30, offering a prize pool of US$1.2 million, and shown as-live on both truTV and Warner TV.

“ELEAGUE is a huge addition to the Warner TV and truTV line-ups, and is the biggest thing never before seen on TV,” said Marianne Lee, Turner’s Head of General Entertainment Content in Asia. “We already know the scale and popularity of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in this region, and to offer this tournament to our viewers so soon after the US premiere, is a real milestone for both channels. Building up towards the end of July, weekends will be transformed for the millions of gaming fans out there who have never had such unrestricted access to this growing phenomenon.”

Supporters in Asia can also look forward to seeing Tyloo at the event, the only team from the Asian region competing in ELEAGUE. Inspired after a mythical creature that represents wealth in Chinese culture, Tyloo is a well-known Chinese multi-gaming organization with a long pedigree in the CS:GO series. Also from the eastern hemisphere are Renegades, a team with members who formerly held jobs as plumbers, carpenters and laborers in Australia, before moving to the US to compete full time.

Turner and WME | IMG announced on May 23 that ELEAGUE will be distributed to over 80 countries around the world including Turner networks in Latin America and Asia. Fans can also receive the latest updates on ELEAGUE through, its Facebook page ( and Twitter account (@EL).
