Karina Kogan named SVP of Digital Media and Products for TBS & TNT

Karina Kogan Joins Turner's TBS & TNT as
Senior Vice President of Digital Media and Products
Karina Kogan has joined Turner's flagship entertainment brands TBS & TNT to serve as senior vice president of digital media and products. Kogan's chief responsibility will be to oversee TBS & TNT's Atlanta-based digital team and Los Angeles-based content marketing team, a critical role in the networks' ongoing transformation into a consumer-first, omni-channel business built for the future. She will also collaborate with TBS & TNT's innovation team, as well as with counterparts across Turner, to build a thriving ecosystem of digital products that will deliver premium content and positive consumer experiences across all platforms.
Kogan, who comes to Turner from Participant Media, is based in Los Angeles and reports to Michael Engleman, executive vice president of entertainment marketing and brand innovation for TBS & TNT. "Karina has a diverse set of skills that balance product development, technology and operations with content creation and digital/social publishing, making her a perfect fit for this key position," said Engleman. "We're delighted to welcome her to our team."
Kogan most recently served as executive vice president of digital for Participant Media, where she was responsible for the general management of the company's award-winning online news magazine, TakePart. She also oversaw digital product development, technology and digital marketing initiatives for the company's films and television shows. While at Participant, Kogan grew TakePart to more than 10 million visits per month, tripled the size of the company's email database and social media footprint, and helped innovate a first-of-its-kind technology platform that programmatically links digital content to social activism opportunities.
Prior to Participant, Kogan was the executive vice president and chief marketing officer of Buzzmedia, a leading digital pop culture network. During her tenure at Buzzmedia, Kogan was responsible for the launch and operations of the company's flagship entertainment brand, as well as its network of influencer properties, including the social media profiles for the Kardashian sisters, among many other celebrities. Kogan was part of the strategic planning and acquisitions team that expanded the company's portfolio from six to more than 40 digital publishers. As chief marketing officer, she grew the company's celebrity division to become one of the Top 3 most visited entertainment properties.
Kogan's experience in operations, marketing, programming, product development, technology and strategic planning also includes senior roles at PureVideo Networks, CitySearch and Evite, where as vice president of marketing and sales development, she helped bring the business to profitability with triple-digit growth in both traffic and revenue.
