Katrina Cukaj

Katrina Cukaj is executive vice president of portfolio sales and client partnerships for Turner Ad Sales, where she oversees sales opportunities across the company’s robust portfolio of entertainment, kids, young adult and news brands. In that capacity, she is responsible for leading conversations across specific agency holding companies, as well as managing the Northeast and Detroit regions on behalf of Turner Ad Sales. As the primary sales counterpart to Turner’s multiplatform news division, Cukaj is based in New York and reports to Donna Speciale, president, Turner Ad Sales.

Prior to taking on this newly-formed role in the fall of 2015 and expanding her oversight across the Turner portfolio, Cukaj was the executive vice president of CNN Ad Sales. During her time in that position, she was responsible for the creation and execution of multiplatform sales, sponsorship and integration opportunities for CNN, HLN, CNN en Español U.S. and CNN Airport networks. Driven by Cukaj’s leadership, the news sales team brought deeper engagement and innovation to agencies and brands than ever before, forming partnerships that increased in sophistication to align with the consumption of content across all screens, such as on CNNgo and CNN’s Snapchat Discover channel.

Cukaj joined CNN in 1999 as an account executive and continued to hold ascending positions in responsibility and title; she was named vice president in 2006, and senior vice president in 2008.  As vice president of CNN Ad Sales, Cukaj led her New York sales team in successfully selling many of CNN’s largest programming initiatives, such as Heroes and Fit Nation, working with a number of the largest media agencies, including Zenith Media, Initiative Media and Universal McCann. She also collaborated with the CNN International sales offices to secure global advertising alliances and dollars, and led CNN Advantage, CNN’s multicultural sales and marketing unit.

Cukaj holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Fordham University. She is an active member of Advertising Women of New York (AWNY), Women in Cable & Telecommunications (WICT) and the American Advertising Federation (AAF), as well as was honored as one of AWNY’s 2016 Advertising Working Mother of the Year and an Ad Age ‘Woman to Watch in 2013. Cukaj resides in upstate New York with her husband and two sons.
