Kendrick Lamar Takes the Spotlight in 2014-15 NBA Tip-Off Campaign from Turner Sports

Turner Sports announced today that Top Dawg Entertainment recording artist Kendrick Lamar’s latest single “i” will provide the musical backdrop for its coverage of the start of the 2014-15 NBA regular season. Featured in a series of custom promotional videos produced by Turner Sports, the campaign will run across TNT, NBA TV and nba.com. A thirty-second version of the spot debuted on TNT Friday night and can now be seen at NBA.com

The "i" video features live footage of Kendrick shot by Turner Sports, coupled with NBA action from some of the league's biggest stars including LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Kobe Bryant, Stephen Curry, James Harden, Dirk Nowitzki and Tim Duncan among others. The spot is also tagged with the NBA on TNT “HOME" message, which highlights TNT as the television home for the NBA on Thursday nights.
 
On October 30, the first Thursday night doubleheader on TNT will feature LeBron James' Cleveland homecoming with the Cavaliers hosting the New York Knicks, followed by the Los Angeles Clippers hosting the Oklahoma City Thunder. As part of the celebration around James’ return to Cleveland, Turner Sports will host a fan event – the NBA on TNT Opening Week Concert presented by Samsung Galaxy Note 4 - outside the Quicken Loans Arena that will feature a live performance from Kendrick, with portions of it televised on TNT prior to tip off that night.
