This weekend’s Sunday MLB on TBS telecast (Sept. 20 at 2 p.m. ET) will feature National League Central rivals when Matt Carpenter, Jason Heyward, expected starting pitcher Carlos Martinez and the first place St. Louis Cardinals – owners of the No. 1 pitching staff and best record in baseball – visit Anthony Rizzo, Kris Bryant, probable starting pitcher Jon Lester and the Chicago Cubs, currently an NL Wild Card team. The telecast will be available in the St. Louis market. Ernie Johnson (play-by-play) will be joined in the booth with Hall of Famer Cal Ripken, Jr. (analyst).
A battle for first place in the American League West will be featured the following week as Prince Fielder, Adrian Beltre and the red-hot Texas Rangers visit in-state rivals Carlos Correa, Jose Altuve and the Houston Astros on Sept. 27 at 2 p.m. The Rangers lead the Astros (currently an AL Wild Card team) by a game-and-a-half for the division lead. Johnson will provide play-by-play, joined by Ripken and Ron Darling (analysts).
The MLB on TBS Pregame Show will return Sunday, Sept. 27, at 1:30 p.m. Host Casey Stern will be joined by Hall of Famer Pedro Martinez, nine-time All-Star Gary Sheffield and three-time NL Manager of the Year Dusty Baker.
