TNT’s exclusive presentation of 2016 NBA Western Conference Finals Game 4 on Tuesday, May 24 – between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Golden State Warriors, followed by the iconic Inside the NBA post-game show – delivered the top two programs of the night across all of cable television for the third time this series. Last night’s game telecast averaged 8.6 million total viewers and a 5.4 U.S. HH rating, based on Nielsen Fast Nationals, to garner the most-viewed program of the night on cable.  Further, TNT’s Inside the NBA averaged a 2.8 HH rating, according to Nielsen metered market data, for the second-best program of the night.

Last night’s Warriors/Thunder telecast – which peaked with an average of 10.2 million viewers and a 6.3 U.S. HH rating from 11-11:15 p.m. ET – is the most viewed and highest rated Conference Finals Game 4 airing on the network since 2011 (Miami vs. Chicago).

Turner’s TV Everywhere platforms generated significant triple digit gains for WCF Game 4, including last night’s 719,877 uniques up 706% over last year, live streams up 621% and minutes consumed up 290%, when compared to the comparable coverage in 2015. 
Content published via NBA on TNT’s Facebook and Twitter accounts have generated 361 million social media million impressions for this year’s Western Conference Finals to-date, up 11% over last year. Further, Turner’s accounts have driven more than 29 million video views since the start of the Warriors/Thunder series, up 104% vs. 2015.

  • TNT’s Warriors/Thunder WCF Game 4 telecast is up 38% in viewers and 35% in U.S. HH rating over last year’s NBA Eastern Conference Finals Game 4 coverage airing on TNT (Cleveland vs. Atlanta). This year’s coverage of WCF Game 4 also generated double-digit audience growth across all key demos.
  • Last night’s game telecast is up 34% in viewers and 29% in U.S. HH rating when compared with 2014, the last time the network televised the Western Conference Finals (Oklahoma City vs. San Antonio).  
  • Top local markets for last night’s Warriors/Thunder telecast: Oklahoma City (25.6), San Francisco (19.8), Tulsa (15.3), Cleveland (12.1) and San Antonio (11.3).
  • Through the first four game telecasts of the WCF, the series is averaging 8.2 million total viewers and a 5.0 U.S. HH rating, up 31% and 25%, respectively, when compared to TNT’s most recent comparable WCF coverage in 2014.

TNT’s exclusive coverage of the 2016 Western Conference Finals will continue Thursday, May 26, with Game 5 of the series at 9 p.m. The network’s coverage will begin with NBA Tip-Off presented by Autotrader at 8 p.m. with host Ernie Johnson and analysts Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith and Shaquille O’Neal.
