TNT Tips Off 2015-16 NBA Regular Season with Marquee Opening Night Doubleheader NBA Champion Golden State & Kia NBA MVP Stephen Curry vs. New Orleans & All-Star Anthony Davis; Cleveland & LeBron James Visiting Chicago & Derrick Rose

Network to Present Blockbuster MLK, Jr. Day Primetime Doubleheader – NBA Finals Rematch Featuring Golden State vs. Cleveland; Los Angeles Clippers & Blake Griffin vs. Houston & James Harden 

Turner Sports, entering its 32nd consecutive year of NBA coverage, will feature a 53-game schedule during the 2015-16 NBA regular season showcasing the league’s biggest stars including 10 appearances by the NBA Champion Golden State Warriors, Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Clippers, nine appearances by the Cleveland Cavaliers, Los Angeles Lakers, Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs, and seven appearances by the Houston Rockets.  TNT will televise 18 Thursday night NBA doubleheaders during the regular season.

TNT will officially tip off the 2015-16 NBA regular season on Tuesday, Oct. 27, with a highly anticipated doubleheader featuring the Golden State Warriors and 2014-15 Kia NBA Most Valuable Player Stephen Curry hosting the New Orleans Pelicans and All-Star Anthony Davis at 10:30 p.m. ET.  The Pelicans/Warriors telecast will be preceded by the Eastern Conference Champion Cleveland Cavaliers and LeBron James visiting the Chicago Bulls and Derrick Rose at 8 p.m.

This year will mark the 20th straight season the network has tipped off with two games on opening night.  TNT’s opening night coverage will also include Golden State’s championship ring ceremony prior to the opening tip of the Pelicans/Warriors game.  The night’s action will begin with a one-hour TNT NBA Tip-Off presented by AutoTrader pre-game show at 7 p.m.

TNT’s coverage of Kia NBA Tip Off 2015 will continue Thursday, Oct. 29, with a doubleheader featuring the Atlanta Hawks and its four returning All-Stars – Al Horford, Paul Millsap, Jeff Teague and Kyle Korver – visiting the New York Knicks and Carmelo Anthony at 8 p.m., followed by the Los Angeles Clippers, with Chris Paul and Blake Griffin, hosting the Dallas Mavericks and Dirk Nowitzki at 10:30 p.m.

The network will also showcase a primetime doubleheader on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (Monday, Jan. 18) including an NBA Finals rematch with the Golden State Warriors visiting the Cleveland Cavaliers at 8 p.m.  In the second game of the night, the Clippers will host James Harden and the Houston Rockets at 10:30 p.m.

  • NBA Champion Golden State Warriors making three consecutive appearances on TNT – visiting the Minnesota Timberwolves with Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns, the last two No. 1 overall picks of the NBA Draft presented by State Farm, on Thursday, Nov. 12, at 8 p.m.; facing the division rival L.A. Clippers on Thursday, Nov. 19, at 10:30 p.m.; and hosting the L.A. Lakers and Kobe Bryant on Tuesday, Nov. 24, at 10:30 p.m.

 

  • Milwaukee Bucks appearing on TNT for the first time since the 2002-03 season, visiting the Cleveland Cavaliers and Kevin Love on Thursday, Nov. 19, at 8 p.m.

 

  • Oklahoma City Thunder and stars Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook visiting the Miami Heat and Dwyane Wade on Thursday, Dec. 3, at 7 p.m., and the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday, Dec. 17, at 8 p.m.

 

  • Three straight appearances by the L.A. Lakers and Bryant – hosting the Houston Rockets and Dwight Howard on Thursday, Dec. 17, at 10:30 p.m.; visiting the Sacramento Kings and DeMarcus Cousins on Thursday, Jan. 7, at 10:30 p.m.; on the road against the Golden State Warriors and “Splash Brothers” Curry and Klay Thompson on Thursday, Jan. 14, at 10:30 p.m.

 

  • New Orleans Pelicans and Davis making five appearances on TNT, the franchise’s most since relocating to New Orleans, including a featured game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on the final night of live game action before NBA All-Star 2016 – Thursday, Feb. 11, at 8 p.m.

 

  • A marquee doubleheader coming out of the All-Star break on Thursday, Feb. 18, with the Cleveland Cavaliers and James hosting the Chicago Bulls and All-Stars Jimmy Butler and Pau Gasol at 8 p.m., and the San Antonio Spurs and LaMarcus Aldridge visiting the L.A. Clippers and DeAndre Jordan at 10:30 p.m.

 

  • A doubleheader featuring some of the Western Conference’s biggest stars on Thursday, March 3, when the New Orleans Pelicans and Davis host the San Antonio Spurs and Tim Duncan at 8 p.m., followed by the Oklahoma City Thunder and Durant visiting the Golden State Warriors and Curry at 10:30 p.m.

 

  • Houston Rockets making three straight appearances on TNT – with Harden visiting his former Oklahoma City franchise Tuesday, March 22, at 8 p.m.; meeting the Cavaliers and Kyrie Irving in Cleveland on Tuesday, March 29, at 8 p.m.; and hosting the Chicago Bulls and Rose on Thursday, March 31, at 7 p.m.

 

  • L.A. Clippers and Paul visiting the Oklahoma City Thunder and Westbrook, in a matchup featuring two of the most exciting point guards in the league, on Thursday, March 31, at 9:30 p.m., and the Clippers hosting an intra-city rivalry game against the Lakers on Tuesday, April 5, at 10:30 p.m.

 

  • A pair of highly compelling doubleheaders to close out the regular season – the Chicago Bulls vs. Miami Heat on Thursday, April 7, at 8 pm., followed by the San Antonio Spurs vs. Golden State Warriors at 10:30 p.m.; and the Oklahoma City Thunder vs. San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday, April 12, at 8 p.m., followed by the Memphis Grizzlies vs. L.A. Clippers at 10:30 p.m.

In addition to its regular-season coverage, TNT will be the exclusive home of NBA All-Star Weekend’s signature events including the BBVA Compass Rising Stars Challenge on Friday, Feb. 12, State Farm All-Star Saturday Night on Feb. 13, and the 65th NBA All-Star Game from Toronto on Sunday, Feb. 14.  The network will also televise more than 40 NBA Playoff games including first and second round action and the exclusive presentation of the 2016 NBA Western Conference Finals.
