TNTs Exclusive 2015 NBA Eastern Conference Finals Game 3 Telecast Delivers Most-Viewed Program Across All of Television

   ECF Game 3 Generates Triple-Digit Growth Across Digital & Social Platforms

TNT’s exclusive presentation of the 2015 NBA Eastern Conference Finals Game 3 between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Atlanta Hawks on Sunday, May 24, averaged 7.8 million total viewers and 4.7 U.S. HH rating (according to Nielsen Fast Nationals) to deliver the most-viewed and highest-rated program of the day across all of television (cable and broadcast), based on metered market ratings. Additionally, TNT’s Inside the NBA presented by Kia garnered a 3.5 overnight rating, combining with the Cavaliers/Hawks game telecast to rank as the top two highest-rated programs of the night across all of cable television for the third consecutive time. 

TNT’s Cavaliers/Hawks game telecast – peaking with 10.5 million total viewers and a 6.3 U.S. HH rating from 11:15-11:30 p.m. ET – is up 21% in U.S. HH rating and 16% among total viewers over the network’s comparable Conference Finals coverage last year. Locally, the Cavaliers/Hawks telecast earned a 32.0 in Cleveland – TNT's highest rating on record for a Cavaliers game in the metered market – and a 10.1 in Atlanta

Through three games, TNT’s NBA Eastern Conference Finals coverage is averaging 6.9 million total viewers and a 4.3 U.S. HH rating, up 11% and 10% respectively over the network’s comparable live game telecasts last year.

Additional highlights:

  • According to Nielsen Social, last night’s Cavaliers/Hawks Game 3 was the most-discussed program of the night across all of television (cable and broadcast) on Twitter;
  • The Cavaliers/Hawks Game 3 telecast generated more than 52 million social media impressions for content published across Turner’s NBA on TNT and NBA TV accounts via Facebook and Twitter, up 105% over the comparable game window last year;
  • Live streaming of Cavaliers/Hawks Game 3 across digital screens – including Turner’s TV Everywhere platforms – is up 101% in live stream starts, 124% in total minutes consumed and 86% in uniques over last year;
  • Live video starts via TNT Overtime for Game 3 are up 217% compared with the corresponding Conference Finals game window last year.

TNT’s exclusive coverage of the Eastern Conference Finals will continue Tuesday, May 26, with Game 4 of the series at 8:30 p.m. The network’s coverage will begin with a 30-minute NBA Tip-Off presented by Autotrader pre-game show at 8 p.m. live from Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland with host Ernie Johnson and analysts Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith and Shaquille O’Neal.
