Turner’s truTV Announces 2017-18 Programming Slate with 18 Creator-Driven Comedic Series, Pilots, and Renewals

truTV announced a 2017-18 programming slate that includes eight returning series, five new series, and five pilots and projects in development. Highlights include all-new series Laff Mobb’s Laff Tracks, which joins previously-announced series I’m Sorry, The Chris Gethard Show, At Home with Amy Sedaris, and Bobcat Goldthwait’s Misfits & Monsters launching later this year and in early 2018. truTV will also bolster its base of returning series, announcing new seasons of Impractical Jokers, Jon Glaser Loves Gear and The Carbonaro Effect, plus additional episodes of Hack My Life, Comedy Knockout and You Can Do Better. Finally, the network’s development pipeline includes projects from Molly Austin and Shamikah Martinez, Liza Treyger, Michael Torpey, The Kloons, and Rose Schlossberg.

Turner Spotlights TNT, truTV, CNN and TBS at TCA Winter 2017 Press Tour

Turner is charging into 2017 with a packed slate of premium original content from across its leading portfolio of multiplatform brands, four of which took center stage this afternoon at the Television Critics Association's Winter 2017 Press Tour. CNN, TNT, TBS and truTV each presented panels, which included Panels Include TNT's "Will" and "Claws"; truTV's "Upscale with Prentice Penny," "Talk Show the Game Show" and "I'm Sorry"; CNN's "Believer with Reza Aslan," "This Is Life with Lisa Ling,"
"United Shades of America with W. Kamau Bell" and "The History of Comedy"; and TBS's "Full Frontal with Samantha Bee."

truTV announces show premiere dates and new development

truTV's new comedic lifestyle series "Upscale with Prentice Penny" premieres Tuesday, March 21, at 10pm ET/PT, tackling topics including travel, fashion, gift giving and cooking from the prolific showrunner's comedic and stylish POV. New mashup comedy series "Talk Show the Game Show" from creator and host Guy Branum premieres Wednesday, April 5, at 10pm ET/PT. Celebrity guests in season one will include Chelsea Handler, Maria Bamford, John Sally and Wanda Sykes. New scripted comedy "I'm Sorry," created by and starring Andrea Savage, premieres Wednesday, June 21, at 10pm ET/PT. truTV also ordered pilot presentations for the new comedy competition series "Smart, Funny and Black" from creator Amanda Seales, and for "Apocalypse Video," a journey through found footage hosted by Judah Friedlander.
