Friday's Telecast to Include Recorded Message from Turner Sports' Craig Sager

truTV will exclusively televise the 2014 Coaches vs. Cancer Classic on Friday, Nov. 21, and Saturday, Nov. 22, from Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Action will begin with a doubleheader on Friday, Nov. 21, with Stanford against UNLV at 7 p.m. ET, followed by Duke vs. Temple.  Coverage will continue Saturday, Nov. 22, with the Consolation Game at 7 p.m., followed by the 2014 Coaches vs. Cancer Classic Championship Game.

Brian Anderson will call the games on truTV alongside analysts Greg Anthony and Steve Smith with reporter Seth Davis.  Additionally, Bleacher Report host Adam Lefkoe and college basketball lead writer Jason King will also be on site to provide halftime coverage, as well as commentary in between the doubleheaders both days.

As part of the network’s coverage, long-time Turner Sports reporter Craig Sager will deliver a special message to fans addressing his fight with cancer and the ongoing support he has received.

Turner Sports analysts Anthony and Smith preview the Coaches vs. Cancer games:

Stanford vs. UNLV

Anthony on a key player from each team that viewers should keep an eye on: “Cody Doolin, UNLV — He reminds me of T.J. McConnell and what he did for Arizona. Eight of the 10 kids who will play [for UNLV] will be freshmen or sophomores. The senior [Doolin] will provide leadership for the young squad.”

“Anthony Brown, Stanford — He doesn't get all of the hype, but he may be the Cardinal’s best all-around player.”

Anthony on which program is ready to make the next step: “The Rebels probably have more talent and a higher ceiling, but the experience and confidence of Stanford’s Sweet 16 run give the Cardinal the edge.”

Duke vs. Temple

Steve Smith on the player Duke will most need to fill the void left by the departure of Jabari Parker: “Freshman center Jahlil Okafor is ready for the spotlight and will take up the scoring Duke lost by Jabari Parker’s departure to the NBA.”

Smith on a key player fans should watch in this game: “Fans should keep an eye on Temple point guard Will Cummings. The senior averaged more than 16 points and 4 assists per game last season for the Owls.”
