Turner’s CISO Joins NTSC Board of Directors as a Founding Board Member

ATLANTA (September 06, 2016) – The National Technology Security Coalition (NTSC) announced Pete Chronis, Chief Information Security Officer for Turner, has been appointed to serve on the NTSC Board of Directors as a Founding Board Member.
The National Technology Security Coalition (NTSC) is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that will drive the national dialogue on technology security in the United States. The mission of NTSC is to effectively forge a coalition of information security stakeholders to help reverse the accelerating pace of disruption to our nation’s information systems.
NTSC’s primary initiative will be advocating on regulatory and legislative policies that impact the technology security industry. Also, NTSC will drive the national dialogue by conducting educational thought-exchange forums and delivering professional development programs to equip members with innovative cybersecurity solutions.
“We are delighted that Pete has agreed to join the Board of Directors for the NTSC,” noted Tino Mantella, the President of the NTSC. “Over his career, Pete has worked at retail, media, entertainment, financial services and information technology companies. He has consistently proven to be an innovator, as well as an inventor having developed a number of proprietary IT security technologies over the course of his career. Turner is doing some very innovative things from a technology side, and Pete is leading the way. Having him on the NTSC Board adds another strong CISO voice to the Coalition.”
As the CISO for Turner, a $10B media, sports, and entertainment company headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, Pete is responsible for Turner’s information security operations, architecture, governance, compliance and business continuity programs designed to protect the company and its global portfolio of more than 100 brands.
Pete has more than 15 years of experience using technology to manage risk. He is the inventor of several innovative proprietary IT security technologies that together have blocked more than 750 billion threats and prevented more than $100M in fraud. Prior to Turner, Pete was the Chief Security Officer at EarthLink where he was responsible for the company’s security program and product portfolio. He also developed sophisticated proprietary fraud detection systems for Lynk Systems, an Atlanta-based financial services company that was acquired by the Royal Bank of Scotland and is now called WorldPay.

NTSC will be hosting a panel discussing The Current Impact of Legislative and Regulatory Policies Impacting the Cybersecurity industry at the EC-Council Global CISO Forum on September 16th in Atlanta, GA.
