Turner Continues Leadership in Marketing Sciences with Promotion of Wes Chaar

Seven-year Turner veteran will represent Turner’s data strategic initiatives, mission, and values as senior vice president of Analytics, Data and Decision Sciences
NEW YORK -- Data is a key piece of fueling Turner’s efforts in reimagining the television experience. Today, the company is announcing that it is continuing its investment within the data sciences team with the promotion of Wes Chaar to senior vice president of Analytics, Data and Decision Sciences at Turner.
In his new role, Chaar will continue to oversee Turner’s work in the field of analytics, data and decision sciences, operations research, and optimization, collaborating across the company’s departments and translating strategies into execution plans for new decision support systems and audience insight strategies. Based in Atlanta, he reports to Stephano Kim, executive vice president of Digital Strategy and Operations & chief data strategist at Turner.

Chaar has been with Turner for seven years, playing an integral part in Turner’s ability to anticipate and react to the massive shifts happening in our industry and within the competitive landscape. He is a key partner across Turner’s business and technology organizations and is responsible for important developments as they relate to data acquisition, revenue maximization, predictive targeting solutions, and much more.
With over 15 years of experience in the analytics, data and decision sciences fields, Chaar attained his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to Turner, he held various research, consulting, management and leadership positions, working on problems in the airlines, hospitality and on-line retail sectors.
He is a member of the I-COM Chief Data Officer Council, IEEE, and INFORMS. Chaar was the recipient of the 2016 ARF “Great Mind Award” for Analytics Leadership, solidifying his standing as one of the preeminent thinkers in the field.
