Oscar Rondon is joining Turner Latam in the newly created position of Vice President, Data and Analytics.  Oscar will be based in Atlanta, reporting to Turner Latam President Whit Richardson.  Read Whit's note about the appointment below:

In our discussions around repositioning Turner Latam, we have talked a lot about the “straddle” -- courageously dominating our core business while simultaneously building new ones, deriving strength and balance from content, culture and consumer focus.  To this end, we have been bringing new talent, knowledge and perspectives into the division to build on existing enterprise expertise.  I am confident that Oscar is going to elevate Turner Latam’s data strategy and management as we work to become a next generation media provider.

Oscar will be tasked with building a truly cross-platform business intelligence operation that harnesses research and analytics to propel the business forward.  Collecting, mining and managing consumer data to extract insights go to the very core of being a “fan first” company, and play increasingly important roles in content, monetization, marketing and development.

Turner Latam’s research team has a strong reputation within the industry.  Under Oscar’s guidance, the group will be charged with setting the standard in the usage of data and analytics in the service of fans and clients alike.  Oscar is an energetic executive who combines proven leadership skills with advanced technical acumen.  He will help us quickly accelerate our consumer insights capabilities, including the utilization of Launchpad and Target Now. Oscar will also collaborate closely with Scott Joslin, Senior Vice President of Data Strategy for TI from the DV&I team, as Scott and his team stand-up the tools, technology and an organization that supports TI to achieve a data-driven culture, makes data self-service and incorporates best practices from across the company.

Oscar most recently served as Senior Director, TV Business Development and Strategy at TubeMogul.  He was responsible for all business development activities including inventory, data, attribution vendor relationships as well as pre-sales activities for both the TV and cross screen products, including monetization strategies and integration into TubeMogul platform, product suite and sales strategy.  Prior to TubeMogul, Oscar held leadership posts at Adap.TV / AOL and WideOrbit.  He started his career in Pay TV, spending time at Discovery Latin America, Fox Cable and Viacom.

Please join me in extending a warm welcome to Oscar, and thanking Valeria Beola for stepping in to manage the research team over the last few weeks.  Valeria continues to report to Felipe de Stefani, but will certainly be a key business partner for Oscar going forward.

Best regards,
