CNN Films scores two Oscar nominations for ‘RBG’

From the department of hearty congratulations: CNN Films scored two Oscar nominations for its critically-acclaimed documentary “RBG,” and will represent Turner at the 91st Annual Academy Awards on Feb. 24 in Hollywood.

The film is nominated for “Best Documentary Feature” and the film’s theme song, “I’ll Fight” by Jennifer Hudson and Diane Warren is nominated for “Best Original Song.” “RBG” explores the life and legacy of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. It highlights her professional successes but also takes viewers behind-the-scenes into Justice Ginsburg’s personal life.

The nominations are a testament to the hard work CNN Films has done to build the brand. "Amy Entelis, Courtney Sexton, and their entire team deserve so much credit for their work to find and deliver the best stories, told in extraordinary ways, that captivate audiences both on CNN and in theaters around the world,” said Jeff Zucker, CNN President. “And clearly they are making waves in the industry."
